This little chest of drawers belonged to a lady who was parting with it, as it was one of the pieces of furniture belonging to her late mother 'Colette'.
I started by removing the brass decorative elements to clean them. (yes, yes, it's from Russia, from the little wooden man).
I repaired a corner of the top tray with wood putty, then sanded it down.
I repaired a few drawers.
I cleaned this small piece of furniture and lightly sanded it.
I then applied 2 coats of Eléonore Déco undercoat.
I filled in the handle holes and drilled new ones in the center of the drawers.
I then applied a Redesign mulberry paper with the "Elaine" motif.
Then I applied 2 coats of Liberon paint "les noirs nuance, black purple brillant" to which I added purple metallic pigments to accentuate the purple.
A discreet stencil of a female profile decorates the top of the tray (in reference and homage to Colette).
A 2-coat varnish was applied for protection.
4 new decorative handles have been fitted.
To finish, I reattached the brass elements.
